What's working for you? 💎 (Lifestyle & Mindset Edition)
I really appreciate you all being here in the early days of this community. For new folks: yes, I have strong boundaries about treatment swapping. When you've been in clinical practice, you know how quickly conversations get individualized and nuanced. That's not what this space is for. But here's where the gold is: what's working for you in lifestyle? The way you're fueling yourself. Managing stress. Setting boundaries. Moving your body. Mindset shifts. I know there's collective wisdom here. Drop a gem below: something that's had a profound impact on your lifestyle or how you're approaching things. Not treatments. Not supplements. Not medications. Something more upstream that's helping you feel better, be more consistent, function better, or just… breathe a little easier 🤗 Mines Below. 💜 Mel

One of my favourite gems is... "it's easier to cancel something than it is to plan something." So I plan with permission to cancel. So I do home workouts with a neighbor friend. We both have young kids, and she's a nurse so shift work plays in ✨. There are weeks we see each other more than others. There are even weeks when it didn't work out all week... but the fact that the mental load default is "this happens on these days" and we check in with each other means we end up doing it way more than we otherwise would. And it's hella fun. An efficient/quick workout wrapped in a hug. A total consistency lever.
@Hannah Snelling Beautiful. And Social Connection is truly a form medicine 💜 Brilliant. Love that you do this. Making my wheels spin. Can I incorporate this in other places in my life(?!) Actually my husband and I have a reoccuring date night scheduled with a babysitter. That too has been a game changer.

But I promise you that's good news and that you'll learn to explore what's working for you, understand the targets defined in research so you can self reflect and pivot and how to show up more consistently for yourself. New Video: Top 4 levers for blood sugar health
Hey everyone 💛 I just posted a new video, and honestly, this one felt necessary. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by all the blood sugar "hacks", this one cuts through the noise. The reality: Not all interventions move the needle the same way. Or have two for 1 deals aka help with blood sugar and a gazillion other things. It doesn't make all blood sugar hack wrongs (although some definitely are) but if it's ahead of these 4 levers you need to reconsider what you are choosing to focus on first. Most of us need to learn majoring in the minors ;) This video walks through what actually rises to the top when you look at human research and what deserves your energy first, second, and last. It's not about doing everything. It's about knowing where to start. Let me know what lands (or what doesn't) curious to hear your thoughts on the concepts of constraints. Your comments are like my fuel jet for the next video :) If you like what I'm putting out liking the video and commenting directly on YT really helps me out :) 👉 Subscribe to my YT and comment
@Hannah Snelling yay. Perfect. 💜
@Suzanne Rochon eat the rainbow 💯
What are your Saturday vibes?
Mine. Embracing being a little weird. My lil' guy had a 30 min swim lesson .... most of the parents sitting (i have totally done that too many time) .... but today it didn't "sit"well with me. So i stood , lunged, squatted etc. 30 full minutes. How can we normalize movement as a society... why am I the weirdo? (I'm ok with that) ... why are things designed to make sitting the obvious choice. What do you to increase movement in everyday life?

@Hannah Snelling have you tried the Nike run app? I'm so obsessed with coach Bennett. And im sure there are other many great coaches i just have stuck with his and havent explored the others. Its guided runs you can play with your favorite playlist/podcast.
@Danielle P That's awesome 40 x 5 = 200 minutes/week! Such a great foundation :)
My journaling win. Mindset + Action: Containment
I'm in a sticky legal situation (real estate related, not criminal, not my medical license, you are safe 🤣). Years in, no quick end in sight. Most people would consider it pretty intense. In January things boiled over. Lots of practical to-dos on top of 2 kids and a full-time job. After the immediate tasks were done, I hit emotional whiplash, just deep frustration with the whole situation. I was struggling to recalibrate. The mindset piece: Life isn't always easy. Hard moments push us to learn and grow. So instead of resisting it, I ask: what's my growth opportunity here? How do I come out stronger? My biggest regret would be looking back and realizing this spilled over into the more important parts of my life. So I needed to learn **containment** how to hold something difficult without letting it contaminate everything else. The practical piece (because mindset alone isn't enough): 🔹 One dedicated email for all communication about the problem. Not our personal email. 🔹 We check it twice a week only, on specific days, before noon (so it doesn't affect our sleep). 🔹 Inbox pause extension so emails only deliver during those windows. Protecting against our own human behaviour lol 🔹 Our legal teams have our text number for true emergencies. Otherwise, it waits. And we've communicated that boundary. This contains the *conversations* too. We get info, make a plan, deal with it, then close that topic until the next window. No constant drip of new emails pulling us back in. **We're only a few days in, but it already feels like a major win.** I know we all sometimes face hard seasons. Some have endpoints, some don't. When there's no endpoint, the best you can do is protect yourself. Why talk about nervous system and mindset here? It totally plays a role in your hormonal health and overall health. Have you heard of containment before? Practiced anything like this? Can you see implementing it in your own life? What does that look like for you? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
@Solenne Séguin Merci 🥰
