I was inspired by this week and her big share about her talk, and I wondered if I would be ready to talk to a general audience about my book topic. It got me thinking... what if I am invited to give a 10-20 minute ted-type talk about my book. What will I talk about? Then today I was in a workshop for academics and the speaker mentioned the importance of rest (mentioned it for 2 min). Instantly I thought... if gave a ted talk today, REST is definitely an entire topic she owns. So I turn this into a prompt for us... if you are invited to give a ted-like talk TOMORROW about your book/issue you're thinking about - what will you talk about for 10-20 minutes with ease and clarity?
Right now, since I am finishing my dissertation, I realized I can easily talk about book research or how wall street owns our cities and why this matters.
