Happy birthday, Sierra! I hope you have a wonderful day.
Tuesday writer's circle... In the classroom
Tomorrow I will be on the road. I have recorded an exercise for you all. Check it out. Comment here when you are done ✅. Back to regular programming on Wednesday. Hello, my dears! Happy New year! In this first session of 2026, I’m inviting you to participate in a powerful exercise: write a letter to yourself for the day you publish your book. 1. I encourage you to set a specific deadline for your book and identify milestones to help you reach that goal. 2. Take at least 15 minutes to draft this letter, seal it in an envelope, and mark the date on the outside. This exercise is a beautiful way to acknowledge your journey as an author. 3. Share your experience with us once you’re done. Let’s make this year the year we all publish our books! Try this link. You should have access if you are a premium members or writing a CAB book with us. 00:00 New Year and Writing Practice 02:08 Setting Deadlines and Milestones 04:44 Imagining Publication Day 06:06 Writing the Acknowledgment Letter 08:16 Community Engagement and Growth Thx

Done. Thank you, Sierra, for sharing this exercise. My envelope is missing an official open date, as I want to save it for the exact moment I am a Published Author, and not next month (the deadline I gave myself for a draft to be completed). I enjoyed this exercise because it gave me permission to hop into the future without using words like 'hope to, will, want, etc.' Wishing you and your daughter a wonderful and exciting road trip. I look forward to seeing everyone next week.
12/30/25 ✨Writer's circle cliff notes
“Let Yourself Want What You Want” In this Writer’s Circle, our conversation centered around desire, expansion, and self-permission — especially for women who have learned to shrink their dreams in order to stay safe, responsible, or “reasonable.” Sierra wrote an article recently about her atrophied dreaming ability... It’s called: ✨ “When My Dreams Had to Wait: A Mother, an Entrepreneur, and the Return of Desire” ✨ Read the Full Article ... after writing it she has a new take on her ability to dream... We explored the idea that many writers don’t struggle with motivation — they struggle with allowing themselves to want more. “I’ve spent so much energy trying to become the version of me who doesn’t self-abandon.” Writers reflected on: - how childhood conditioning shapes self-doubt - why success can feel threatening - and how writing reconnects us to the truest parts of ourselves We also explored 10X visioning — not as pressure, but as liberation.Instead of “What’s realistic?” we asked: “What would your life look like if you stopped shrinking your desires?” That question opened doors — to courage, clarity, and honesty. Key insights from the session: - Your inner critic isn’t the enemy — it’s a scared protector. - Dreams don’t die at the start — they die when we demand HOW too soon. - Deadlines become anchors when they’re rooted in desire — not pressure. - Writing isn’t just creative work — it’s identity work. One member said: “Writing helps me remember who I really am.” And another: “This feels like Author Anonymous — where I don’t have to pretend I’m fine.” DO NOW Set a deadline- a publish date. a draft done date. a speak on stage date... etc. BIG Scary Hairy goals- with real deadlines. We ended with each writer naming a real milestone + date — a declaration of commitment to themselves and their voice. This call was about becoming.About choosing expansion.About allowing your longing to exist without apology.

Deadline: Finish a rough draft of what might be a chapter or a possible book by February 25, 2026. Make a decision on this day how it is going to move forward.

The Split- Book Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Literary Titan just posted a glowing review of our recent Anthology, The Split. Congratulations to all authors: Brandee Melcher, @Dr. Katherine Humphreys , @Carol Britton , @Lesley Goth , PsyD, @Carolina Cifuentes , Sierra Melcher, @Christen Bryce , MS RN, @Allison Banegas , Dr. @Erica Love , @Summer Jean @LaToya Burdiss , and @Jen Kennedy, MPA 👉If you have read our book please leave a review on GOODREADS or amazon. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Read the original review "The Split gathers the voices of women who faced the unraveling of marriages, families, identities, and long-held beliefs. Across these stories, the writers look directly at pain, loss, and the complicated paths toward freedom. Instead of treating divorce or separation as a collapse, the book reframes each ending as a turning point where women choose themselves, rebuild their lives, and honor the truth that wholeness can follow even the hardest breaks. By the final pages, the collection stitches together a message that is steady and hopeful. These women are not broken, and they are becoming something stronger. Reading their words, I felt an ache in my chest more than once. The writing is striking in its honesty, and the stories breathe with real life. @Brandee Melcher ’s chapter opens with the raw confusion of childhood and grows into a powerful reclaiming of self, and her voice shook me because of how clear and grounded it becomes. Her journey from chaos to confidence made me root for her, and it reminded me how childhood patterns can shadow adulthood until we finally name them. I also found myself lingering on @Sierra Melcher s reflections on choosing peace over performance. Her reminder that children do not need perfect homes, they need healthy adults, resonated with me personally. The stories impact in different ways, but all of them bring a unique emotional punch.

Seventeen days ago I posted a selfie with The Split. I read the first chapter before my work day started and had every intention to carve out time the next day and finish it. Life had different plans for me until today. I went to a local cafe this morning and read it from cover to cover. I found a piece of myself throughout the book, and was captured by the vulnerability each author shared with us. I learned a few things about my own Split journey, and am hoping I can start to see and feel different. New perspectives are always welcome, and can help shift our narrative. Thank you to all the authors.
