“Let Yourself Want What You Want”
In this Writer’s Circle, our conversation centered around desire, expansion, and self-permission — especially for women who have learned to shrink their dreams in order to stay safe, responsible, or “reasonable.”
Sierra wrote an article recently about her atrophied dreaming ability... It’s called:
✨ “When My Dreams Had to Wait: A Mother, an Entrepreneur, and the Return of Desire” ✨
Read the Full Article ... after writing it she has a new take on her ability to dream...
We explored the idea that many writers don’t struggle with motivation — they struggle with allowing themselves to want more.
“I’ve spent so much energy trying to become the version of me who doesn’t self-abandon.”
Writers reflected on:
  • how childhood conditioning shapes self-doubt
  • why success can feel threatening
  • and how writing reconnects us to the truest parts of ourselves
We also explored 10X visioning — not as pressure, but as liberation.Instead of “What’s realistic?” we asked:
“What would your life look like if you stopped shrinking your desires?”
That question opened doors — to courage, clarity, and honesty.
Key insights from the session:
  • Your inner critic isn’t the enemy — it’s a scared protector.
  • Dreams don’t die at the start — they die when we demand HOW too soon.
  • Deadlines become anchors when they’re rooted in desire — not pressure.
  • Writing isn’t just creative work — it’s identity work.
One member said:
“Writing helps me remember who I really am.”
And another:
“This feels like Author Anonymous — where I don’t have to pretend I’m fine.”
DO NOW
Set a deadline- a publish date. a draft done date. a speak on stage date... etc. BIG Scary Hairy goals- with real deadlines.
We ended with each writer naming a real milestone + date — a declaration of commitment to themselves and their voice.
This call was about becoming.About choosing expansion.About allowing your longing to exist without apology.
And — as always — about not doing it alone.
👉ACTION. post your DEADLINE & milestone & dates in the comments. See sierra's for an example.
💫 Why keep showing up to the Circle?

And you’re welcome here while you figure it out.
