Hear my confession
Ok, I want you to imagine for a moment that we are in a confessional booth, and you're listening to my confession...🙏 "Ok... I did it again. I started an inspiring project without completing the last one. I am supposed to be writing a book right now. I promised to have the draft ready for print by the end of this year. Instead, I've been spending my writing time developing content for this community. I know I have to pause community development for 3 months, and give myself the space to finish the book... but I can see so much potential here. Speaking to just a few members, I am so excited to build something meaningful. But realistically, I must complete this book first. Otherwise, it's going to eat away at me. Plus, it's an incredible opportunity for me. To be a published author and have expertise in a space. OK... I'll pause here for a few months and hope that everybody appreciates this. Perhaps they are all magpies too, after the next shiny object. But I will be back, and I will make it worthwhile for those who stick around." Folks- I must get the book done before I start the journey with this community! Watch this space and sending gratitude. We are going to build something meaningful here, I can feel it. Sending good vibes, Vics ❤️
Question re: Market Data vs Creativity?
As a coach, how do you balance content that is inspired by market research vs content that is inspired by your own creative ideas — unrelated to market research? Do you post your own creative expressions here and there or are you only solely posting reliant on customer data? If a mix of both, how do you balance the two? Personally, I feel like there's not a lot of creative freedom when posting based on market data but it's tough to know what best resonates with the audience without said data so limitations can exist there as well. Last week, I did some market research and came up with content in solution to problems that felt instructional and insightful to my audience as I did receive some engagement saying such — yet it felt very creatively limiting for me to some degree. This week I created content that was inspired by my own life experience. While I did enjoy the process more and felt satisfied in my efforts, I took the post down about 1 hour after upload because I wasn't immediately getting the same amount of engagement as I did with last week's post. I'm assuming engagement might've seemed low because of the specific day and time I posted this time as opposed as to the day and time that my previous post was uploaded. I plan to re-post on Sunday without deleting. A lot of my content is reflective in nature. However, if you've mastered involving both in your work I'm curious to know how you've managed it? If you have any advice or guidance for me as well, I am receptive. All/any insight is welcomed and greatly appreciated🥲

A good place to start if you're new to business
The days of 10-page business plans are dead (hurrah!) Unless you're looking to raise capital, save yourself the time. That being said, it's still super important to think strategically and capture your thoughts in one place. I really recommend that everyone with a new business concept start with a Business Model Canvas. It's a simplified one-page snapshot of how your coaching business creates value, delivers it, and gets paid. Use it to test ideas fast before you waste time on the wrong thing. ⭐ Here's how to use it Start in the middle with your Value Proposition, then jump to Customer Segments and Channels. Focus on one customer segment and idea. Keep it simple. Update it as you learn. Here are the 9 building blocks ⬇️ 1. Customer Segments (Who you serve) 2. Value Proposition (Why they choose you) 3. Channels (How people discover, evaluate, and buy) 4. Customer Relationships (How you build trust and keep clients engaged) 5. Revenue Streams (How money flows in) 6. Key Resources (What you need to deliver consistently ) 7. Key Activities (What you must do exceptionally well) 8. Key Partners (Who helps you win) 9. Cost Structure (Where the money goes) I've attached a business model canvas explainer for you to review. You can either print it off, or there are lots of online templates- try on Mural or Miro for a whiteboard experience. I will post some prompts in the chat below to help you get started. Let me know how you get on.
