Sunday Session at Uplands Park is happening in 7 days
⚽ Tip of the Week: “Scan Before You Move” 👀
One of the biggest differences in players is not just control — it’s awareness. This simple activity helps your child get used to looking up before making a move. 🔹 How it works: - Child starts with the ball in a small space - Parent stands a few steps away and holds up 1 or 2 fingers at random - Before moving, the child must quickly look up, call the number out, then continue dribbling Repeat for 2–3 minutes 🎯 What this improves: - Awareness (looking up, not just at the ball) - Decision making - Control while thinking 💡 Make it more effective: - Change numbers quickly so they have to react - Add a simple instruction: 1 = turn left 2 = turn right ⚽ Why this matters: In matches, players don’t just dribble — they need to see what’s around them. This helps build that habit early, in a really simple way 👍

⚽ Tip of the Week: “Turn & Go” Challenge 🔄
A great way to help your child improve control and movement in tight spaces: Set up 2 cones (or objects) a few steps apart. How it works: - Dribble from one cone to the other - At the cone, do a simple turn (e.g. inside of the foot or sole roll) - Then dribble back Repeat for 2–3 minutes Focus on: - Keeping the ball close - Changing direction under control - Using both feet where possible 💡 Make it fun: - Can they do more turns than last time? - Can they use a different turn each time? Even a few minutes of this helps build confidence, balance, and control 👍

⚽ Tip of the Week: 3-Minute Ball Control Challenge 🎯
A really simple way to help your child feel more confident on the ball at home: Set a timer for 3 minutes and try this: - Tap the ball side to side using the inside of both feet (like passing it between your feet) - Gently push the ball forward with one foot, then the other - Lightly tap the top of the ball with your feet, one at a time Focus on: - Keeping the ball close - Lots of small touches - Staying relaxed Even doing this 2–3 times a week can make a big difference 👍
