Hey folks! I've been away for awhile, off-grid, moving, rebuilding, etc. Been missing this group this is one of my favorites! I finally took a some time to go thru some photos and make a little recap of my very first tower grow earlier this year! I decided to go the DIY route, and I designed and built everything myself. This a prototype test run that was Largely built off of Chad's inspiring teachings and experiences!! So Thank you so much @Chad Miner for all you do! Huge shoot out to you man! We've started eating from the towers now and thought we'd show this wonderful SOH community the growth we've experienced in less than 3 weeks. Last night we picked a bag of greens and 30 minutes later went to a local gathering. We invited the people there to take a piece to taste. They were blown away by what completely organic and free of pesticides/herbicides fresh leafy greens taste like. They want more -- guess we'll be asking Santa 🎅🏻 for TG # 3. You'll notice in the photos we added the cage to TG 1 because the mustard greens are getting so big we'll need to support them next week. As we mentioned previously, we bought TG #2 (which included the complete TG Flex, a dolly, a cage, the light kit, and extension of 8 pots) from a FB Marketplace ad for $350. Tower 2 had only been used 6 months, but required some elbow grease due to nutrient salt build up and lack of use.

Been trying out different flowers in the Tower Garden. I'm learning about floral arrangements and am seeing how I can make a tower bouquet. The petunias have been in the tower for at least 5 months and are just now looking sad. Are you growing flowers in your tower garden? What's growing well?

Finally finished my DIY hydroponics setup. It’s two systems in one: an AutoPot system and an NFT system, both cycling to the same big reservoir. I built a custom dosing system that is fully adjustable with auto mixing and PPM control. The pumps run on a timer and the whole setup is coded by me in Home Assistant. I 3D printed most parts and I have the files if anyone is interested. The spinach is still going strong after almost a year. I’m also growing tomatoes, strawberries, and asparagus.

Picked a few cucumbers today. Anyone know why we typically eat unripened cucumbers? I'm going to leave one on and let it turn yellow to try it.
