Homework 8/5 - 8/12
We're revisiting the basics this week and talking about BRAKING! Specifically, braking body positions and becoming acclimated to our controls again. So this week we're going to work on our Straight Line Braking drill - which can be found here: https://www.skool.com/thepracticeloop/classroom/ca3aa4f0?md=fa016fc81a67453caa346d5f4b047b8c Once you get familiar with that, you can start playing with the progressions inside the "5 Drills To Build Downhill Confidence" https://www.skool.com/thepracticeloop/classroom/379f6c73?md=0c4035343b264b99991ff9711980979e Starting with just going down a hill as slow as we can - aiming to try and "stop" in the middle without putting a foot down. Then progressing to balancing and stepping over the bike to build some muscle memory for those situations where we can't get to the ground quickly in technical situations. And the next progression being working on turning down hill. Progressively making the turn tighter and tighter. @Mason Swan you get to work on Stoppie turns...just cuz. @Johanna Huber since you asked about tires, most of us in the group run Plews Tyres - which are primarily trail tires, but I think you'd enjoy the Grand Prix which I've linked below. You can get it for 10% off from Risk Racing (the link I've sent you) using code SPLAT10. This is a deep lug tire with a paddle tread so it should hold up in silt, sand, and mud pretty well too. https://riskracing.com/products/plews-tyres-grand-prix-intermediate-soft-deep-lug-enduro-rear-tire?_pos=5&_sid=556ac5b71&_ss=r

START HERE 🏍💨
This community is built around practice, progression, experimentation, and helping riders become more confident and in control on the trails. Here’s what to do first: 1️⃣ INTRODUCE YOURSELF Make a post and tell us: • What you ride • Where you ride • What skill you’re currently working on • And feel free to share a riding clip if you have one! 2️⃣ CHECK OUT THE CLASSROOM There are riding resources, concepts, videos, and bonus content already waiting for you inside the classroom tab. 3️⃣ UNLOCK MORE RESOURCES You’ll notice some classroom resources are locked until Level 2. This is designed to encourage participation and help build a real riding community instead of a band of crickets. 👀🦗 Every like, comment, or reply you receive gives you points toward leveling up — so interact with other riders, ask questions, give feedback, and post your reps! You only need 5 points to unlock these resources! 4️⃣ WEEKLY VIDEO REVIEW CALLS Every Wednesday I’ll be doing a 1-hour live call reviewing EVERY riding video posted in the group throughout the week. We’ll cover: • Riding technique • Form corrections (if requested) • Problem solving • Bike/body positioning • Trail situations • And general riding questions Can’t make it live? No worries — recordings will be posted in the group afterward. 5️⃣ HELP ME BUILD THIS THING If something feels confusing, glitches out, seems missing, or you just have ideas that would make the community better… PLEASE tell me. I genuinely want this to become a fun, helpful place where riders can practice, improve, encourage each other, and grow together. 6️⃣ CHALLENGES I will start challenges once this group goes live hopefully in the next week or two! 🙌 We're starting with a static balance challenge just to give you a head start for being so cool. 😉 Welcome to The Practice Loop. Now go post your reps 👊🏽

What's Up With The Leader Boards?!
If you see this and wonder what the heck?! We're not ranking you on your dirt bike prowess. lol. I haven't figured out how to turn it off yet, or if it can, BUT the ranking is based off who ENGAGES in the group the most. You gain points, every time someone likes your comment, reply or post. It's also how you "level up" and unlock new resources within the group. As the group grows, we'll rely on the levels a little bit more, but for now in it's testing stages, it's mostly to encourage group participation! 🙌
What's Up With The Leader Boards?!
YOU NEED TO TRY THIS!!!
We talk about slipping the clutch so much….but what about when that doesn’t work? That’s what Nick and I were working on last week! Check it out! 👇
Little trick!
I had a fellow enduro rider share this with me so it wouldn’t be right unless I shared it with you guys! His clutch lever ball was cut in half! It gives the level clearance to not hit your other knuckle when doing single finger or two finger clutch action!
Little trick!
