🚀 This isn’t Facebook... and here’s why that matters 🚀

Hey everyone,

I absolutely love seeing the way people are connecting, supporting each other, and sharing their journeys in here. That’s exactly what I hoped for when I set up this community.

But I’ve noticed a few posts drifting into idle chit-chat, Facebook-style oversharing, or pity parties.

Let me be really clear: this isn’t Facebook, and it isn’t the Samaritans.

This community is for serious entrepreneurs who come here for inspiration, education, and motivation - to learn, connect, scale up, and be part of a movement where growth gets REAL.

That doesn’t mean we cannot be friendly or personal. Far from it. It means that when we share, we do it with purpose: a question, a lesson, a challenge, or an insight that moves people forward in business and in life….

Please also be mindful that while some members are just starting out, others are running businesses turning over tens of millions, and even £100's millions.

That mix is powerful, and it works because we respect each other’s time and attention.

Let me also share why I take this no-nonsense stance. When Jul’s and I went bankrupt at 27 and ended up homeless, I wasted years licking my wounds and feeling sorry for myself.

Looking back, I can see it added nothing. Nada. Rien. Nichts. Niente. Ничего. 没有. صفر.

However you say it, wallowing delivers zero benefit.

Looking upwards makes you move upwards. Looking down makes you move down. We all travel in the direction that our language, mindset, and focus drive us.

That is why I will not allow this community to drift into negativity or noise (and just to be clear, that has always been Rule Number 1 since the day this community was created).

A mentor once gave me a piece of advice I never forgot. I questioned him on something he told me to do, and he looked me straight in the eye and said: “Mike, I never asked you a question! - never ask a question you don’t want the answer to.” He wasn’t being harsh, he was being clear. It wasn’t a debate, it was a boundary.

This post is the same. This is not a question. It is a value and a boundary that I hold firmly for how this community will grow.If that means it is not the community you want to be part of, I genuinely wish you health, wealth, and happiness for the future.

I will not be offended if you choose to leave.

For some behavioural profiles, this won’t feel like the right fit, and that is completely fine.

To remind everyone, here are the rules that protect what we are building:

People and Unity, not Politics
Business, Not facebook chat !

I’ve always been clear why I built The Growth Syndicate: to create a space that delivers the very best of business and entrepreneurship, in a style that is no-nonsense, bare-knuckle, REAL, and rooted in tough-love honesty.

I give a lot of my time to curate this community - time I would normally charge at business rates - and I’ll continue to do so because I believe in what we’re building here. As my primary mentor would say? “I will be your toughest mentor so I can be you biggest cheerleader when you win!”

So yes, I will curate strongly to protect the quality and purpose that make this group special. And if you prefer a more chatty, “cuddly,” side-hustle-style group, please set that up outside of this one…. It’s really easy to do on Skool

I am not looking to be popular, I am looking to help people grow.

As Steve Jobs once said,

“If you want to make everyone happy, sell ice cream.”

This community isn’t about ice cream. It is about real growth, real results, and building the right kind of friendships - those forged in support, accountability, and progress.

Thank you for understanding, thank you for contributing, and thank you for helping keep this community focused on what it was created for: growing together, without the noise.
