Oregon High School State Championship Recap
What a fun couple of days following our high schoolers around the State at the High School State Championships! We are thrilled with all of the success our junior golfers are having and we want to share their success with our Skool Community! 1) Our very own, Amy Simanton, lead the Lake Oswego Boys Team to the 6A State Title for their 11th State Title in history. LO broke a tie with Jesuit for the most boys State Titles in Oregon HS Golf History. 2) Lake Oswego was lead by Drew Woolworth, our extremely talented Golf Farm member. Drew shot rounds of 67-66 to finish 11-under par at OGA Golf Club to win by 8 shots in the individual race. This is Drew's 2nd straight High School Individual State Title! - The 6A Individual Race was rounded out by Jennings Oelke (71-70) and Alex Yang (74-71). Jennings has trained with us since 7th grade and to see his improvement year in and year out made Amy and Brian a little emotional during the trophy ceremony!! 🥲 Jennings will begin collegiate golf at Iona University in New York this fall. Alex Yang started with us in January and are thrilled with his steady improvement this spring, nabbing his best finish of the season! - Other Golf Members, Noah Willott (76-73) and Quinn Hefele (78-71) tied for 10th and Blake Kappes (77-74) finished in 18th place!! 3) The 5A Division also played at OGA Golf Course with Corvallis HS taking home the State Title. Ben Boyson and Chase Brown, who have worked with Brian over the past year, finished 5th (74-78) and 10th (80-75), respectively. 4) Down in Creswell at Emerald Valley Golf Club, the 6A Girls Championship wrapped up with our girls, Milla Patel (85-80) and Brianna Chen (83-83) finishing inside the Top 25! 5) Down in Corvallis, the 4A to 1A Classifications played at Trysting Tree. On the girls side, Salem Academy won the State Title by 30 shots(!) lead by our talented members Chloe Johnston and Ellie Gladow.
