The Affects of Training the 9-Mile Way
Just conquered my 3rd 70.3 Half Ironman yesterday and PR'd overall! My fastest time of all even my flat course finish was 35 minutes slower! Coming off the Bike Course on this particular Ironman 70.3 leaves the legs in a questionable state for the mountain we climbed and the many other hills! lol! However, as I trained for this I applied the 9-Mile Method as I generally do and even though this was the half ironman distance for the run, I did the full plan and accomplished my fastest half marathon finish at a 70.3 triathlon! I did this even after the crazy bike leg. It is so important to run based on the HR as many plans focus on pace. Thankfully, Marlies developed this plan which has allowed me success in my goals!
