Checking in
I’ve been away for a bit while attending residency for my doctoral program, and I wanted to reconnect. It's interesting how quickly our roles can take over our capacity. Even meaningful work can sometimes stretch us in ways that require stepping back from other things for a season. One of the things my professor shared on the final day of residency was the need to recognize when to push and when to pause. For me, this was a pause season. Not an ending. Just a shift in focus. I’m back now, and I’m looking forward to continuing the conversations around how we relate to work in steadier, more intentional ways. If you’re still here, thank you.

What The Workplace Recovery Room is all about...
This is a community for people who are tired of dragging themselves through the workweek and want a healthier, calmer way to exist in their careers. We talk about burnout, boundaries, communication, stress habits, personalities at work, confidence, conflict, and all the unspoken emotional weight that comes with modern workplaces. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, misunderstood, or stuck in a cycle of constant pressure, you’ll feel at home here. You’ll get check-ins, short lessons, live conversations, and a supportive environment where you don’t have to filter yourself. ❌No toxic positivity. ❌No productivity cult energy. ✔️Just honest conversations, ✔️Useful tools, and ✔️Space to recover. Feel free to introduce yourself when you're ready, then join us and reconnect with who you are beyond your job, while learning how to navigate work without losing yourself in the process.
TGI-Thursday Night
As we move into Friday, I want to invite you to try a small noticing exercise. If you’re seeing this on Thursday evening, take a moment now. If you’re seeing it later, you can try this on the evening before your next day off. Pause for a moment and notice how you feel knowing that a break from work is coming. It might be relief, anticipation, or something else entirely. There’s nothing to change or analyze. Just notice and sit with whatever shows up for a few minutes. Sometimes simply allowing ourselves to feel the approach of rest is a quiet form of recovery.

Achieving Balance
Hey y'all. I want to share a resource with you. It's called 25 Ways to Achieve Balance in Your Life. I want you to really look this over and be intentional about how you use it. My plan is to periodically schedule the ones I am able to do in my calendar. This may not work for everyone. There are some people who don't want to see a calendar outside of their workplaces and that's fine. I live by mine. Find a method that works for you and give a few of these ideas a try. Share what has worked for you and what you'd like to try, even if it isn't something on the list. Actually, especially if it's something that isn't on the list.
