Checking in
I’ve been away for a bit while attending residency for my doctoral program, and I wanted to reconnect. It's interesting how quickly our roles can take over our capacity. Even meaningful work can sometimes stretch us in ways that require stepping back from other things for a season. One of the things my professor shared on the final day of residency was the need to recognize when to push and when to pause. For me, this was a pause season. Not an ending. Just a shift in focus. I’m back now, and I’m looking forward to continuing the conversations around how we relate to work in steadier, more intentional ways. If you’re still here, thank you.

Happy Friday
Before the workweek ends, take a moment to notice what you’ve been carrying. Not everything needs to come with you into the weekend. If you can, let today be less about finishing strong and more about setting things down gently. Recovery can start before the workweek is over.

Take a break
All credit goes to the creator Elizabeth White on Tiktok. Even a 15-minute break can improve decision-making because it gives your mind a chance to step out of constant demand. When you stay engaged without pause, your attention narrows. You become more reactive, less patient, and more likely to rush to make decisions, or just default to what's familiar. A short break creates mental distance and helps you restore perspective. When you return, you're more able to weigh options, notice nuance, and respond rather than react. Give your mind the space needed to reset so you make better decisions.

Root of stress - Perspective - Awareness
Being an active member of the "gig economy" I was reminded today that work stress sometimes doesn't always come from the work itself. Sometimes it's the small moments where we don’t feel seen, heard, or steady. Just a perspective...
