There’s a girl on TikTok, doing a series called the language of the poor. She went over the phrase “ it’s not worth my time” This is one that really resonates because in business I see a lot of people who need money right they need it bad… but then they follow that up with. I’m not working for _________. Fill in the blank for less money, for discounts, for $30 $50 $100. Could be anything. One girl that used the rent for me was in desperate need of money had a Groupon up for sale for a 90 minute massage for $120 and came to me angry because Groupon was discounting it further to 100 and somebody called and asked if they could just give her the hundred dollars. And she was so mad that they were asking for a discount. I Simply asked her…” do you need the money?, Like could you use $100?” Without even thinking, she said “absolutely I need it really bad.” I said then “why would you be angry that somebody’s willing to give you $100?” I said “ do you have someone else who could take the spot she wants that would give you full price” ? She said “no” I said, “would you rather take zero for that 90 minutes or would you rather get $100 for that 90 minutes”? Of course, every situation is different. As you get busier, there are some things that aren’t worth your time but when you’re desperate or you’re not even Close to your goal. Now is not the time to be proud. For sure do everything you can to make as much money as you possibly can to get people in it full price or your membership or package price. Market yourself… all of the things. But don’t step over $100 to take $0
