Just wanted to share something with you all from this week… As you all know I love the heat, but it’s finally catching up with me and my sleep this week! Also Ruby (my dog) always sleeps on my bed… but during these heat waves she is on and off the bed all night long 😩 just trying to keep cool.. The cheeky little thing keeps waking me up to lift it back onto the bed and yes I get up every time and put her back in the bed 🙈 and I know I’ve created a little monster 🐶 Just to add to it, I still have the night sweats menopause 🥵🥵🥵 And yesterday, it really caught up with me. As I went in the kitchen to make my lunch and before I’d even realise what I was doing, I found myself reaching for sugary snacks because I wanted energy right now and didn’t want to wait for my lunch. In all honesty, I would’ve happily stood there munching on the snacks whilst I made my lunch 🍫😬 Then I caught myself. I wasn’t actually really hungry. I was just tired 🥱 So, I made my lunch, which was a proper meal, sat down and enjoyed it It was a really good reminder that when we’re tired, our brains naturally look for quick energy. Add in the hot weather (and the fact that many of us are probably a little dehydrated too.) and it’s easy to mistake these feelings for hunger… It isn’t about having more willpower. It’s about becoming more aware of what’s driving your choices. So if you catch yourself wandering into the kitchen today, pause for just a second and ask yourself… “ Am I actually hungry…. or am I tired, thirsty or simply looking for a quick energy boost? That tiny pause can completely change the decision you make. Has the heat, poor sleep or menopause been affecting your appetite this week? I’d love to know if you’ve noticed it too💛
