A Stoic lesson that changed my perspective:
The event isn't what controls you.
The story you tell yourself about the event does.
You miss a workout. "I've failed."
Or...
"I missed one day. I'll be back tomorrow."
A client says no. "I'm not good enough."
Or...
"One rejection doesn't define me."
The obstacle stays the same.
Your judgment is what changes.
Today, pay attention to the story running through your mind. If it's making you weaker, rewrite it with truth, not excuses.
What's one story you've stopped telling yourself that made you a stronger man?
