The Man in the Mirror
Most men spend their lives measuring themselves against other men. More money. More muscle. A better job. A nicer truck. But that's the wrong comparison. The only man you need to outperform is the one you were last week. Did you keep your word? Did you train? Did you lead your family? Did you control your emotions? Did you make progress toward the life you say you want? The mirror doesn't care about excuses. Every Sunday is an opportunity to tell yourself the truth. Not to judge yourself, but to recalibrate. Because honest reflection is where real growth begins. Next week starts tomorrow. Decide today what kind of man you're going to become. What's one win you're proud of this week, and what's one thing you're committed to improving next week? Let's hold each other accountable. 👊 Your Stoic Brother, Cody

@Cody Giroux Yes, you don’t get to be an older lifter without thinking like that lol

@Cody Giroux Never second guess an old man with muscle in the gym lol
Memento Mori Amor Fati
This is my life calendar. Each dot = one week. This is my life in weeks. We never know how many we have left. So I live by my code now. Every week gets colored in on purpose. ‘Weeks you can’t see, you waste. Weeks you can see, you respect.

@Cody Giroux I may have life experience but one thing I have learned from Stoicism is that there is always more to learn and Room to improve. We are not perfect but we can strive to me constantly better

@Cody Giroux I always liked this quote “You can’t learn anything if you think you know everything”
⚔️ Forge Trial #1: Gratitude
Brothers, As we rebuild The Stoic Forge, I wanted to bring back something we used to do that I always enjoyed, our weekly challenges. Only this time, we're calling them Forge Trials. The goal isn't to be perfect. It's to consistently become a stronger man, one small action at a time. So let's start with something simple, but powerful. This week's Forge Trial: Every day this week, write down three things you're grateful for. They don't have to be life-changing. Maybe it's your family. Maybe it's your health. Maybe it's the roof over your head. Maybe it's simply another day to improve. Gratitude shifts your focus from what you lack to what you've already been given. It reminds us that even when life is difficult, there is always something worth appreciating. Strong men don't ignore hardship. They choose not to let hardship blind them to the good that still exists. Next Saturday, we'll check back in as a brotherhood and reflect on how this simple habit affected our mindset throughout the week. If you're in, comment "I'm in." Let's build this habit together. 🔥

I’m in
A little rest
Today is a rest day. It’s a bit rainy so not outside yard work. I made sure to practice my gratitude this morning and a little meditation. I’m an older gym lover so I need rest time but it takes all my will power to stop and slow down. When the work is complete rest easy brothers
Brotherhood Check-In — Progress Over Perfection
Alright brothers — it’s Thursday. Time to check in and tell the truth. Did you crush it this week? Or did the week throw a few punches and you’re still standing (barely)? Either way… you’re here. That’s what counts. This community isn’t about perfect macros, perfect sleep, or monk-like discipline 24/7. It’s about showing up, owning your shit, and getting a little bit better — week by week. Drop your check-in in the comments: 1. ✅ One win you’re proud of this week 2. ⚠️ One thing that tried to knock you off track 3. 💡 One intention for the next 48 hours Doesn’t have to be profound. Just be real. And after you post — scroll up, find a brother, and drop a comment or a fist bump. Because iron sharpens iron, but so does a good callout or a “you got this.” Let’s go.

I cut weight down to 204 Not much knocks me off track, I have learned how to flow with what comes. I can’t control life’s bumps and twists but I can 100% control my reaction and how I allow it to affect me.
