This week, we’ve been sitting with a powerful question: How do we truly get to know ourselves?
And what came up again and again in our conversations was this — it’s not found in books or blueprints. It’s found in living. In the choices we make. In the moments that shake us. In the courage to step outside of what’s familiar.
No decision is ever the wrong one. Every choice we make, we can make right — because every path teaches us something about who we are.
The stories shared this week reminded us of that. Moving to a new country. Navigating financial hardship. The relationships that broke us open. The moments we had no idea what came next — and survived anyway.
Those weren’t detours. Those were the path.
Even the hard stuff — especially the hard stuff — carries a gift, if we’re willing to receive it. Discomfort stretches us. Trauma, when we move through it with intention, can become one of our greatest teachers. It forces creativity. It forces a different way of seeing.
Life keeps asking us: Who are you becoming?
Our job is simply to stay open. To stay curious. To trust that whatever is happening right now is shaping something in us worth knowing.
That’s The Gay Men’s Table. That’s why we’re here.
Keep growing. 🌱
