An Empty Vessel
Being in leadership is not the rose garden nonleaders think it is. Yes, there are the peaceful, calm moments when you can breath and smell the roses. But most of the the time, the mini fires are everywhere and you are the only one with the hose.
How do you save your garden? How do continue to lead, motivate, put out the fires when the hose is empty?
As leaders, we give so much to ensure the team is equipped, senior management has what they need, etc. But we often forget, we have to ensure we have what we need.
As I am typing this, I am running on empty. Reading my own words, I have to keep my rose garden safe. It is my responsibility. I have to find what that looks like for me. Becuase if my vessel is empty, the damage begins. I have to sacrifice the day to be filled, knowing there will be more work tomorrow. But that's ok, becuase now I am recharged, full, and can take on the fires.
I pray this helps someone enjoy their rose garden even more.
Enjoy your weekend and your rose garden!
