A 3 minute nervous system reset
Hey friends,
My friend Kevin Russell put together this three minute nervous system reset you can use in times in extreme stress. I love Kevin and his approach, lots of good science and simplicity.
Here is a 3-minute Nervous System Reset you can do at your desk.
  1. Cross-Crawls (60s): Seated March. Right had to left knee; switch. (Brain integration.)
  2. Physiological sigh (60s): Relax your abdomen → Full Inhale → tiny top-up extra sip of air at the top of the inhale → slow exhale through the mouth. Repeat.
  3. Orient (60s): Name 5 things you see, 4 you feel, 3 you hear.
What changesCortex is back online. Less catastrophizing/ over-mentalizing.
More signal, less noise.
