Tonight we went somewhere real. 🤍
We talked about something nobody in the church is talking about Why your trauma is showing up in your bank account. And the room got quiet in all the right places. Here is the tool we practiced tonight. Use it every single day this week. 👇 The Money Body Scan The next time you are about to open your banking app, send an invoice, or have a money conversation, do this FIRST. Step 1 — Bring to mind the financial situation sitting heavy on you. Don’t analyze it. Just let it come. Step 2 — Scan your body. Where do you feel it? Chest? Stomach? Throat? Just find it. Don’t fix it. Step 3 — Put one hand on that place and say out loud: “I feel this. I am not going to run from it.” “This feeling has a history. It is not the truth about my future.” “I am safe enough to feel this and not be destroyed by it.” Step 4 — One slow breath. In for 4 counts. Hold for 2. Out for 8. Twice. Do this for Three minutes. Every day. This week. Drop a ❤️ below if you are committing to this practice. And share this with the woman who feels it in her body every time money comes up. Something I want you to carry into the rest of this week:
The nervous system does not respond to what you know. It responds to what it has experienced. That is why understanding your trauma history, however clearly, does not automatically heal the way your body responds, to your husband's touch, his voice, his presence. Knowledge reaches the mind. Healing reaches the body. Both matter. Both are part of the work. And we are building both, together. That is what this community is for. You do not have to figure out the body part alone. Here’s a Tool For You: “The Body Check-In”
Today's practice. 🙏 It is called The Body Check-In. It comes from the S.A.F.E. Reset Framework, the “A”: Anchored Emotional Tools. Before you go into anything hard today, a difficult conversation, a quiet moment with your husband, or just the next hour of your day, try this: STEP 1: Feel your feet on the floor. Press them down gently. Actually feel the ground beneath you. Say out loud: 'I am here. Right now.' STEP 2: One slow breath. Breathe in for 4 counts. Hold for 2. Breathe out for 8. The long exhale activates your vagus nerve. This is not spiritual metaphor. This is neuroscience. STEP 3: One hand on your chest. Feel your own heartbeat. Say: 'I am safe in this moment. This moment is mine.' That is it. Thirty seconds. Try it today and tell me one word for what you felt afterward. I will be here reading every single one. ↓
