WHEN YOU’RE TRIGGERED: The 3-Step Reset đŸ”„
You know that feeling. Something happens, a tone of voice, a look, a word, and suddenly your heart is racing, your chest is tight, and you’re not fully here anymore. That’s not weakness. That’s your nervous system doing exactly what it was trained to do: protect you. But you don’t have to stay there. Here’s what to do the moment you feel it: Step 1: NAME IT (30 seconds) Put your hand on your chest and say out loud or in your mind: “I am triggered. My body is responding to a memory, not a current threat.” Naming it activates your prefrontal cortex; the thinking brain, and starts to interrupt the alarm signal. Step 2: EXHALE FIRST (1 minute) Don’t try to breathe in. Breathe out first, long and slow. Inhale for 4 counts. Hold for 4. Exhale for 8. The long exhale is what actually tells your nervous system it’s over. Do this 3 times. Step 3: ANCHOR IN TRUTH (30 seconds) Place both feet flat on the floor. Feel the ground under you. Then say: “I am in [today’s date]. I am in [where you are]. I am not in the past. God is with me right now.” That’s your reset. Less than 2 minutes. You may need to do it more than once, and that’s okay. You’re retraining a nervous system that has been on guard for a long time. Be patient with yourself. Tell me below đŸ‘‡đŸœ l what’s the type of trigger that tends to catch you most off guard? (A sound? A tone of voice? Being ignored? Being yelled at?) You don’t have to share details. just the category. Let’s see what we’re working with together.

WHEN YOU’RE TRIGGERED: The 3-Step Reset đŸ”„
Start Your Day With God And Watch What Happens.
This is how we start our mornings at S.H.E. Returns. Before the teaching. Before the work. Before anything. We soak. We get still. We sit in His presence, and we let God speak before we do. Your nervous system has been running hard. It needs a soft place to land before it faces the day. There is no softer place than His presence. Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." Not our last resort. Our first stop. Give yourself permission to start every morning in His presence. Watch what He does in that stillness.

She looked at me like she already knew.
Day 1 of S.H.E. Returns and God was already showing off. Elephant safari. Sacred conversations. Women putting down things they have carried for years. Elephants never forget. Not grief. Not loss. Not what shaped them. And they still move like they own the ground they walk on. That's the assignment. Next retreat details drop at the end of this week. Only 25 spots. Follow us so you don't miss it. #SHEReturns #WomensRetreat #HealingJourney #TraumaHealing #ChristianWomen #FaithAndHealing #WomensEmpowerment #JessicaDavidCoaching

Who is the most “NEGATIVE” person in your life?
The most negative person in your life isn’t your biggest problem. Your unprotected nervous system is. Here’s the truth nobody talks about, when you wake up already bracing for that person
already rehearsing conversations in your head
already tensing up before they’ve said a single word
Your body is doing something called anticipatory stress. Your nervous system is preparing for battle before the battle even starts. And by the time they actually show up, with their complaints, their criticism, their chaos, you’re already depleted. Already triggered. Already running on empty. So it doesn’t matter how much you pray, how deep you breathe, or how many boundaries you try to set in the moment. You lost the moment before the morning even began. This is what I had to learn the hard way. The most negative person in my life didn’t have power over me because they were strong. They had power over me because I was unprotected. So I stopped trying to manage them, and started protecting myself FIRST. Every single morning, before I check my phone, before I respond to a text, before I walk into a room where chaos might be waiting
I do something that regulates my nervous system and roots me in who God says I am. Not who that person says I am. Not what their energy says about the day. What God says. And here’s what shifted They didn’t change. But I stopped being so easy to shake. My peace stopped being available for other people to borrow, drain, or destroy. My mornings became mine again. And when they walked in with their storm? I was already anchored. That’s not willpower, sis. That’s not “just pray harder.” That’s nervous system regulation wrapped in faith. And it’s available to you too. Drop a ❀ in the comments if you’ve ever let someone else’s energy steal your whole day, and I’ll share exactly what my morning routine looks like. #trauma #traumatok #traumatized #protectyourpeace #nervoussystemhealing #christianwomen #morningroutine #drjess #boundarieswithfamily #toxicrelationships #faithandhealing #jessicamdavid
