Prepping Bales for Autumn
I like to always be one step ahead in each season. Here I am building soils, raising areas to direct water and store water right where it falls. I do it by cold composting bales on site. Once they age I then plant into them. These will be ready for planting this Autumn and winter. I have been doing this for ten years now, works on all soil types. Have you tried it, still do, had success or going to try? Once they are spongy they are ready to plant

Spinach update.
My spinach is getting along slowly, it's looking much better now but I feel all the spinach that is growing wild these days is growing a little faster LoL Can you spot the spinach that isn't growing in the controlled environment?

Saturday morning
Just giving the gardens an extra water cause we’ve got days of plus 30 degrees coming. Good haul of cucumbers with more still to come. I’ve left a couple to go too long so now I’m just using them as a treat for the chickens. Sliced in half they absolutely love it. Going to try an Asian cucumber salad with the human haul. These six Cos have kept us in so much salad and they’re still going strong. Had two salads from the garden last night for dinner so that’s a good feeling. Little patch of yellow beans behind is still offering enough for a couple of salads a week - waiting for the climbing beans to get bigger and take over that roll.
