Squash/Seed Saving
My squash was a huge success this year! My 2 plants put out a lot of fruit and this baby I kept for seeds. I did have an issue with powdery mildew but chopped off the affected stems and fed them to my worms, they really enjoyed the leaves. Then the plants just powered on 💪 Who here likes squash?

Tomato Troubles
Hi all, tomato's are usually a go to crop at my place and this summer is no different, infect I went overboard and have tomato's everywhere, but there is one that is perplexing me , I think its a Grammys throwing tomato, (the labels all blew away so i could be wrong) that I put in a old half while barrel pot that was set up for my blueberry that unfortunately didn't come back after re potting , it just hasn't grown, the ones in the bed nonboring it that were planted at the same time seem fine, could it have something to do with the Rose mix that was put I put in the post for the blueberry? as the other beds were prepared for tomato's at the start of the season shall i try it somewhere else? any advice would be appreciated

Picked a pineapple and learned something.
The other day I picked a pineapple and was so excited as the ones I grow usually taste so sweet and juicy. About 2 years ago a neighbour gave me some tops from a red ornamental variety, The fruit was small but the leaves were a lovely deep red colour. Anyway when I cut my pineapple it was full of seeds and not so tasty so I did some research and found that pineapples will cross pollinate if you have different varieties so I will pick off the small red fruits in future.

Update on my garden
So it’s been quite a few weeks since I showed some photos of my garden so I thought I would add more for your viewing pleasure. I haven't been able to do much in the garden for the past few days as I have been resting my back (herniated discs in lumbar) and arthritis in right hip (I think it’s starting in my left as well). I did pick up a couple of thornless blackberries “Chester” & planted them in a pot yesterday & today I had a play in my worm 🪱 farm…..& collected the castings. So many worms that I will definitely need another worm farm soon or try @Marty Ware compost system (not sure how to start that atm).

What’s your favourite tool?
Hey Gardeners, I was sitting here during my lunch break & was wondering what is your favourite tool to use in the garden? Can the tool be used in a number of ways or does it have a single purpose? At the present I am enjoying using my bulb planter as I can dig holes with it to put in bulb, seedlings & small plants into the ground then replacing the soil around the bulb, seedling or plant when you release the handle 🪴 It’s an oldie but a goodie 😉
