Start with Why
How are you feeling about the way you spend your time?
One of the most frustrating things for me was working at a job where at the end of the day/week/month I could not put my finger on why I was made to do things a certain way.
This was even worse in romantic relationships. I think it goes back to my childhood.
In my generation when children asked elders not just parents why we were to do things
a certain way the answer was " because I said so". This might explain my opposition to
things that don't make sense.
Eventually I realized how important knowing your why and better yet starting with it
before you set out on a project or big decision left me with more peace at the end
of the day.
Simon Sinek wrote a whole book on this. It wasn't bad.
Consider this your invitation to think about what you want to do today, this week or
even further out and why it's really important to you. I find it helpful to even ask
why your why matters to get to the root of my why.
