Introduction

Hi my name is John, and I've been a front end developer for 8+ years now, mainly working in digital marketing agencies. I've been in Austin, TX for the last 5 years, and LA for the previous 4.5 years. I was laid off in October after 5 years at the company, and now I feel like I'm pretty cooked because I don't have a lot of the professional experience in modern technologies that are listed in these job postings like React, TypeScript, Node, etc. I have some professional experience in those, but not enough for a lot of these companies. I have one final round interview so far, and it was for a Shopify Full-Stack role, and I've had maybe 2 other non-recruiter interviews, too.
