Equinox, knock, knocking on Springs door...

This time of year is very sacred to many different cultures around the world, and symbolized the awakening of Earth from winter and making preperations for planting. It wasn't uncommon to be present at holy sites to watch the sunrise, to pray for the fields to be fertile, and to ask for proper rains at proper times in order to have a bountiful harvest. Not only this, but to pray that livestock be fertile and remain healthy. To our ancestors the equinox was a celebration of surviving winter, and looking forward to rejuvenating days full of promise.

I am thankful to have made it through winter, I am looking forward to longer warm sunshine filled days, where the smell of blossoms float in the breeze.
