Important to all members of SOG
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, Yesterday we held our weekly video meeting, and it was truly a great meeting. We had some laughter, some fun, and some serious and important discussions; overall, the meeting was very good, and we had some connections issues for some members but still a great meeting. During our meeting we discuss the attendance and being more active in the society. One thing that was mentioned, was the day and time of the video meeting. For those that attended yesterday it was not they never wanted attend previous ones, but rather the time and day of the meeting was an issue for some. I truly not only enjoy these video meetings, but I feel they are important to facilitate the growth of this society. I understand that there are time zones, and locations for our members that live outside the United States can be an issue for some, and this is why I am willing to facilitate more than one meeting to help accommodate everyone, we can try to make these meetings as available as possible to those who truly want tot to participate in them. So, I want to propose four issues that I hope that all members will take the time to read and vote but also give their thoughts in the comments on days and times, as well as if you would like specific topics to be laid out and announced ahead of the meetings. Also do you want the name of the meetings to be changed and what you might like to label the meetings? Please vote and leave your comments below: 1.Give the meeting a more inviting and suitable name like " The Society Lounge" 2. A more suitable day or maybe have multiple days to meet. 3. the best times on these days 4. Do you like the idea of specific topics to be discuss announced and posted prior to the schedule date

Vibe
I'm writing this to express a feeling or vibe I've been getting in the Society lately. The vibe has changed since Scott's passing and that's expected to some degree and of course with some leaving and new faces appearing vibes can change. One of the qualities Scott expressed was his ability to keep the society on track of its original intent while allowing freedom of expression which is no small feat. I know those replacing Scott have the same intent. But I can't help but feel that there is a very different vibe lately. So much so that while a few months ago I was looking forward to getting more involved, lately thoughts of leaving the society are becoming prevalent... It feels like there is a "preaching" vibe... It's one thing to share one's thoughts and observations etc. but it's another to do so and promote them as being what one should believe and live by...
Salary Negotiations
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, as we are moving up and growing in our levels of being gentlemen and ladies, our value also goes up. Whether you are looking for a raise, a new job, or even a new career. One main factor is we want what we feel we are valued at. When negotiating a salary keep this in mind: When applying for a position, when fill out the application where is says desire salary write “open” this leaves it open for discussion. Then when you have your interview, moment they asked “what are your salary expectations?” You were placed in a trap. If you say a number under they will pay you less, but if you say a number too high, they disqualify you. Use the reverse, instead and put the pressure back on them. Say “I’m sure for roll of this level you have a budgeted range. Can you share with me what that is so we can be efficient on time,” they have to give you a number. Then once they say it, You say “That’s a great starting point for a base, but I’m more interested in the total compensation package. What do you have?” Never show your cards until you see what they have to offer. Keeping this in mind when you are negotiating your worth will help you receive what you feel you are worth, and not be undervalued or under paid. You’ve earned it you worked hard for it now go get it.
