Society Announcements
Ladies and Gentlemen, I wanted to make a few announcements and updates about our Society. First of all, In the interest of making everything as legitimate and transparent as possible, I wanted to let everyone know that we have officially created a business bank account under the name, “The Society of Ordinary Gentlemen”. I had a personal account that was designated only for the Society funds but since it was a personal account it couldn’t not be in the Society’s name and I would be the only one on the account. One of my requirements for a business account is that it accepted Zelle so that donation lines would not get cut off. I have also started a business Venmo account for the same reason. That being said, it you are going to donate this Gentlemen’s Patronage Day through Zelle or Venmo, please check linktree since the QR code and the Venmo handle have changed. There have also been a couple of additions to the classroom. “A Gentleman's Personal Care” course has been added thanks to @David Zandar and a history course entitled “The Downfall of the Gentleman” has been added explaining the history behind the loss of the gentlemen concept and how the Society wants to combat that. This course came from a suggestion from @Nicholas Logan . Thank you for that. I put out a couple of links for Movie Recommendations which was a suggestion of @Jo Henderson and will be compiling that in the next few days and adding that to the course list that that everyone can reference that. We will also be changing some of the categories and the level names to more align with a gentlemen’s society. I ask that the categories that are more serious and contain post that have deep thought that should be taken seriously not have any comical comments as that will take away from the seriousness of the post. Thank you for your attention to these matters

Life Lessons I wished I had Listened Too
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, Growing up I was blessed to have a strong family and great mentors within my family that imparted wisdom and knowledge. The problem is that I chose to not listen to many of them because I chose for different reason not to listen to them. Some of these reasons were: “this is too difficult to follow”, “this is not for me, this is silly”, and the biggest one was, leveryone else is not doing it.” Now looking back I wish that I had listen to those who had already experienced these things or had knowledge of what I was dealing with. This would have not only saved me a lot of pain and heartache, but also should have put me so much further ahead in life. So here are five life lessons that hurt, but will make you stronger that I wish I had listened and learned. 1. Every second you spent comparing your life to someone else is wasting your your journey is unique and incomparable focus on your own path and happiness instead of measuring yourself against others perceived success. 2. You can lie down for people to walk on you and they will still complain that you’re not flat enough setting healthy boundaries is crucial. You’re worth is not defined by how much you let others take advantage of you 3. Never trust what someone says watch what they do actions speak, louder than words, judge people by their consistent behaviors not by empty promises or grand statements 4.You can’t love somebody enough to make them love you back genuine love is reciprocal and voluntary recognize your worth and don’t waste your heart on someone who isn’t willing or able to reciprocate your feelings, 5. Be careful with your words once they’re said they can only be forgiven not forgotten words have the power to heal or to wound deeply think before you speak and choose expressions that build rather than destroy.
The decline of the suit explained
https://www.facebook.com/share/v/16hU3REJFe/ I feel like I saw this post from someone on this site and if so, I apologize for the duplication. Such a sad reality here. Dignity culture is absolutely the right word, but when our society is filled with hopelessness for the future that cannot be possible to revive again. I very much feel like a relic from the past...we all are.
