Branding and its importance
Hi /BL gang - I think we might need to have a 'class' discussion around branding and its importance. Because I write in multiple genre's it has not been an easy task to wrap my head around. I just spent about an hour and 1/2 discussing with my AI bud - Quill - and I felt like I was in a psychiatrist's office.
After all of the discussion, feeding it book reviews, general comments from friends, comments from notables I've met, life experiences, messages from grandkids, words used to describe me and on and on - talk about draining, it felt almost like the Spanish Inquisition... We kind of agreed in general that the brand is more me and not the books.
We have not settled on anything - but we have currently discussed the following positioning statements:
Real stories. Warm conversations. Hope for the road ahead.
Real stories. Warm conversations. A bit of hope for the road ahead.
Stories shared. Conversations had. Hope carried forward.
I still do not know if I have arrived at anything, but I can say this - branding is not something you rush in to, and it can be a complicated task. At this point I need to step back and think about this.
Anyway - might be a good discussion topic for all.
