RAINMAKER REPORT Part 2: $365,831.80 ~ The Multi Six-Figure Solo Ronin Method
So the follow-up is here...
But I'm gonna give you the skinny first...
...and then the final numbers at the end.
Everyone sees the big win but that's not as useful as seeing the warts on this hog as well and what I learned from it.
The campaign started off with a fizzle...NOT a WIZ-bang.
In my infinite wisdom, when I sent the first T1 I spelled the gmail address incorrectly.
So I got a whopping 20 hand raisers.
And yes, I did test it! (I still have no idea what I did lol)
But as I said in Part 1: the 2nd T1 hit over 1300 hand raisers.
Truth is? On a lot of these campaigns, I go it ALONE.
I've been doing BEAMer deals for 7 years now and exclusively for 5 years.
I write, I tap, and I tend to hog all the profits to myself.
I call it the Multi Six-Figure Solo Ronin Method...
BUT...I'm NOT saying that's how all Ronins should do it.
It does come with its downsides...
Because I was nowhere NEAR ready for 1300 hand raisers on my own.
So...
I enlisted the help of fellow Ronin's and .
Both of which I've worked with before on deals and are upstanding guys.
They were both amazeballs and I couldn't have gotten through those 1300 taps without their help.
They dropped everything for 2 days to help me get through them.
But as Jay soon saw, that wasn't my only obstacle.
About 4 days into the campaign just as we're gaining momentum...
...taking payments started becoming an issue on two fronts.
FRONT #1: For some reason, all of the partner's previous customers couldn't enroll in the 10-pay payment plan option.
They were getting an "Error" message when trying to enroll.
Suddenly my gmail inbox was flooded with peeps telling me they couldn't pay.
Fortunately, the PIF was working just fine as I had 17 pay-in-full payments hit in that ONE day.
Needless to say, I sent that T1 to unopens, over...and over...and over again.
I would have broken a record for sales in a day that early in the campaign had the 10 pay been working properly.
But after 3 days of payment plan issues, we figured out previous customers had to enroll using a NEW email.
This was more than a speed bump.
But I added a highlighted note with instructions under the 10 Pay payment link in the Gdoc.
The problem was somewhat solved (for the most part).
FRONT #2: From the get-go go we had decided to take PayPal for payments however it required my partner's team to send out PayPal invoices manually to people.
This turned out to be a bit of a nightmare.
They weren't prepared for the volume of invoices that were to come.
And they had no system in place.
So on the fly, I invited them to my sales tracker sheet and put a quick system in place for their accounting person to note when an invoice went out and when it got paid...
...so their operations person could manually get them their login details.
It was still a cluster but all things considered, I call this a "high-class headache"...
At the end of the day here are the final numbers, pending two PayPal sales and a Wire Transfer from Japan:
Total number of sales: 275 (still pending 3 PIFs on top of these)
Paid In Full: 183
10 Pay Payment Plan: 90
Total Sales Generated: $365,831.80
Cash Collected: $239,836.30
Recurring Monthly Payments: $13,399.00
(I've updated these numbers since the original posting since I had 3 more sales come in under the wire)
Keep in mind this all happened in mid-December at the height of Christmas shopping.
Guess I should call it the Multi-Six-Figure Christmas Campaign:-)
Total number of Emails Sent: 12 (this includes 2 emails sent the day before cart closing and 3 fence tippers sent on the last day of cart closing)
And the last 3 emails were templates from another similar multi-six-figure campaign.
So technically I didn't have to write them:-)
I won't share what my % of the campaign is but it rhymes with Shorty.
Not terrible for 13 days of work and 12 emails.
Oh, and lastly:
You'll notice on my campaigns the cash collected tends to represent about 2/3's of my total sales.
And that's because I generally know what bonuses to tack onto "Pay In Fulls" to incentivize those PIFs.
Not to mention this audience (in the Spiritual niche) tends to be very money-conscious and are big on saving money.
So anytime I can offer them a "hands-on" bonus AND a discounted investment, we do pretty well.
There's plenty more I could share about this campaign but I'm gonna put a full stop here.
But I hope you enjoyed this little share.
It's time for me to enjoy Christmas and New Year's...
My girlfriend and are heading to Sun Valley on Christmas Eve for 5 days.
I hope you and your family enjoy the season.
May your holiday be cheery and bright:-)
In your corner,
~ Tony
