Understand that there is a massive difference between staying positive... ...and being so positive that it turns toxic. It's important to be optimistic. It's important to stay positive. But no amount of positivity will ever spare you from the reality of the life you've created through your actions and decisions. You cannot be happy with your body if you don't take care of it. You cannot be happy with your career if you haven't been executing at a high level. You cannot be happy with your relationships if you treat people like trash. You cannot be happy with your finances if you don't manage them effectively. You cannot be happy with your standards if you cut corners and compromise. You cannot be happy with yourself if you haven't been keeping your promises. Even if you try to convince yourself otherwise. Eventually... You will be forced to face the truth. ...and if your positive outlook has prevented you from taking the necessary actions to address these shortcomings... You're gonna be pissed. I call this "toxic positivity." Because the truth is... Committing yourself to the actions required to build yourself and your life into something you're proud of will always be a requirement for true happiness and fulfillment.
