Critiques welcome! Especially on the use of corduroys with a Winchester...
Busy Friday in the office, but looking forward to a relaxing weekend at home. It's the first one with no baseball tournament for my 13-year old in a month. Time to catch up on the business expansion plans and any other projects running behind. Maybe I'll try another shoe polishing this weekend.
Outfit
• Jacket — DOJ‑005 (Ralph Lauren): A dark‑brown tweed blazer in a cashmere–wool blend that brings depth, warmth, and unmistakable texture to the core of the ensemble. Slight roping in the shoulders and a clean silhouette keep it elevated enough for internal VC leadership days, while the tweed surface adds quiet visual interest on camera.
• Shirt — DS‑034 (Savile Row Company): A Winchester Prince of Wales check shirt with crisp white collar and French cuffs, balancing heritage British patterning with unmistakable business formality. The navy POW body pairs beautifully with the earth‑tones of the jacket and trousers, producing a sharp and intentional on‑screen presence.
• Undershirt — US‑022 (Sene): A Peruvian Pima cotton MTM undershirt that stays invisible while maintaining exceptional comfort throughout the day. It provides clean drape under the structured dress shirt, ensuring no extra bulk under the French cuffs or collar.
• Trousers — PN‑013 (Fort Belvedere): Deep‑navy heavyweight corduroy with rich vertical texture that anchors the outfit with gravitas. The substantial 705 g/m² fabric reads as refined on camera and harmonizes with the tweed jacket without overwhelming the look.
• Tie — NT‑040 (Nordstrom): A taupe‑brown geometric silk tie with small‑scale patterning that offers subtle complexity while keeping a firmly business‑appropriate tone. Tied in a clean Half‑Windsor, it frames the white collar beautifully and complements both the brown jacket and navy trousers.
• Pocket Square — PS‑017 (Fort Belvedere): A brown‑and‑blue paisley silk pocket square that adds elegant visual depth and ties together the jacket’s earth tone with the navy elements of the outfit. Its deliberate use of warm brown and cool blue continues the ensemble’s color story while maintaining a business‑appropriate level of expression.
• Belt — B‑014 (Charles Tyrwhitt): A chocolate‑brown suede belt with brass‑tone hardware that coordinates cleanly with the suede loafers. The soft nap visually connects to the jacket’s tweed texture, reinforcing the outfit’s cohesion through material harmony.
• Footwear — DSh‑011 (Handsewn Company): Dark‑brown suede horsebit loafers on a Goodyear‑welted sole, providing understated elegance perfect for a VC‑heavy internal Friday. The gold‑tone bit aligns with the metal theme set by the tie bar, collar clip, and cufflinks.
• Socks — DSo‑078 (Kirby Allison): Navy over‑the‑calf dress socks with red contrasting ribs, adding a subtle vertical rhythm that pairs beautifully with the heavy navy corduroy. The red echoes faint warmth from the tie’s undertones and the paisley pocket square without drawing attention.
• Cufflinks — CL‑017 (Unnamed): Shimmering gold triangle cufflinks that mirror the geometry of the tie bar and complement the collar clip’s metal tone. Their subtle angularity offers a refined modern touch while staying firmly within professional dress boundaries.
• Tie Accessories — TA‑010 & TA‑009 (Fort Belvedere / Unnamed): A gold collar clip to gently lift the knot and enhance its three‑dimensional presence on camera, paired with a shimmering‑triangle gold tie bar. Together they unify the outfit’s metal palette and add precise, controlled brightness to the ensemble.
• Pen — P‑001 (Montblanc 146): The Montblanc LeGrand in black resin and platinum trim—timeless, authoritative, and fully aligned with the crispness of the dress shirt’s white collar. Its clean lines echo executive intent without overpowering the rest of the outfit.
• Ring — R‑001 (Wedding Ring): A platinum wedding band that remains a constant anchor of personal meaning. Understated and timeless, it blends seamlessly with any outfit today.
• Watch (Left) — W‑006 (Fossil Townsman Automatic): A blue satin dial within a gold case on a caramel strap, perfect for tying the outfit’s blue elements back into its warm metal theme. The skeleton movement adds a quiet touch of mechanical sophistication visible only to you.
• Business Card Case — BCC‑004 (Fort Belvedere): An oxblood bifold with turquoise lining that introduces a tiny flash of color hidden from the camera, a tasteful internal detail. Works seamlessly with the warm, textured character of today’s outfit.
• Fragrance — FR‑014 (Roberto Ugolini “Marzocco”): A sophisticated amber‑woody extrait with citrus lift and resinous warmth, excellent for cool‑season internal leadership days. Its dynamic evolution mirrors the textured, multi‑layered outfit—assertive but not distracting.
