OOTD-CW - 28 April 2026
Today is much less chaotic, at least that's what the calendar tells me. My new head of BD already has our first prospective client call set up for us. That was about 2 months faster than I anticipated given our field.
For my Tuesday outfits, I have the AI app select at least 1 items from my list of 35-least used items (over the past year). The new jacket and new shoes have only be worn once and the tie is one of my least worn ties that has a semblance of Spring attire. It also selected Chinos for me. I didn't even know I allowed for that option! I went for it and it seems to work, maybe as a big of High-Low mixture.
• Odd Jacket — DOJ-010 (Ralph Lauren): Medium-light wool navy blazer with rope-and-padded shoulders, slanted slit chest pocket, and gold brass buttons — full polyester lining for a clean drape. Spring-weight wool that handles a 44°F morning and a 75°F afternoon without ever feeling heavy.
• Slacks — PN-011: Light tan cotton-and-spandex chinos with stretch for all-day comfort and clean lines under the blazer. The classic navy-blazer-with-tan-chinos pairing is the quintessential Spring office combination.
• Dress Shirt — DS-042 (Charles Tyrwhitt): Non-iron cotton-linen blend in mid-blue Prince of Wales check on white, slim fit with a spread collar and button cuff. The cotton-linen weave breathes beautifully on a warm afternoon and the PoW pattern adds quiet visual interest beneath the solid navy jacket.
• Undershirt — US-009 (Pro Club): Mid-blue heavyweight cotton crew that disappears under the blue PoW shirt while reinforcing the cool side of the palette. Solid enough to keep the dress shirt smooth and dry through a long meeting day.
• Tie — NT-018 (Idea Seta): Tan silk tie with subtle light-brown vertical lines, untipped 2-fold construction, 58 inches long. The neutral warmth bridges navy blazer to tan chinos to cognac loafers without ever matching any of them — tied in a Half-Windsor for a clean symmetric knot under the spread collar.
• Pocket Square — PS-032 (Savile Row Company): A four-in-one silk pocket square in navy with gold patterning — four distinct patterns across the four quadrants, allowing you to choose which face shows from the breast pocket. The navy ground ties directly to the navy Ralph Lauren blazer (DOJ-010) and to the navy in the OTC dress socks (DSo-071), while the gold accents add a quiet warm-metal note that plays beautifully off the spread-collar PoW shirt and the cognac penny loafers. Folded for the day with a fold appropriate to the navy-blazer / tan-chinos ensemble — a puff fold works well for the silk material.
• Belt — B-013 (Hanks): Khaki-brown suede belt with a polished silver buckle — suede is appropriate today since there are no in-person client meetings. The matte suede plays beautifully off the smooth tan chinos and the polished cognac loafers, keeping the leather story warm and tonal.
• Footwear — DSh-016 (R.M. Williams): Tan/cognac penny loafers in a Spring-appropriate warm leather tone. Slip-on dignity, well within polish window, and a direct chromatic tie to the chinos and tie.
• Dress Socks — DSo-071 (Il Regalo): Over-the-calf wool-and-silk dress socks in navy with a mid-blue shadow stripe — required OTC length for in-office days. Navy ground echoes the blazer and the subtle shadow stripe adds quiet texture without competing with the PoW shirt.
• Cufflinks — None: DS-042 has a standard button cuff (Prince of Wales button-cuff variant) so cufflinks are not applicable today.
• Collar Clip — None (omitted): The DS-042 PoW dress shirt has a spread collar, and collar clips/bars are designed for point or semi-point collars where the tips can actually be lifted toward each other. On a spread collar, the geometry is wrong — the right call is to skip the clip entirely.
• Watch (Left) — W-003 (Fossil Neutra Quartz): Silver-toned dress watch on the left wrist — supports the all-silver visible-metals story alongside the belt buckle. Clean dial, biz-casual restraint, and not worn anywhere in the last 5 work days.
• Watch (Right) — W-001 (Apple Watch): Apple Watch on the right wrist — non-client day, so I wear both per the standing dress rule. Useful for internal-meeting notifications without intruding on the classical look of W-003.
• Pen — P-001 (Montblanc Meisterstück LeGrand 146): Meisterstück 146 LeGrand fountain pen with an EF 14K rhodium-coated nib in Moderna Red ink — a slimmer, lighter daily-carry alternative to the 149. The EF nib is ideal for tighter handwriting and small-format notes during back-to-back VCs.
• Wedding Ring — R-001 (Ellie's Jewelry): Platinum wedding ring, always worn.
• Business Card Case — BCC-004 (Fort Belvedere): Oxblood bifold leather card case with a turquoise interior accent — a deliberate Spring color whisper. Slim profile fits the inner jacket pocket without disturbing the silhouette.
• Fragrance — FR-009 (Roberto Ugolini Azzurro): Citrus-aromatic with a marine nuance — the Fragrance tab tags this one explicitly for Spring/Summer biz-casual and warm-weather travel. A bright, season-correct shift away from heavier woody scents on a 75°F afternoon.
