The first day in a while that is mostly just a regular day. We're doing some key opinion leader interviews to get at the current and expected future trust for using AI in our field. Even this current AI leader is skeptical on automated processes. Basically, AI is a tool, not a replacement for humans.
A more basic outfit today, though I used Friday rules to ensure a few items were from the least worn of my wardrobe items.
• Shirt — DS-025 (Charles Tyrwhitt): A sky blue Classic Winchester poplin stripe dress shirt with crisp white stripes running vertically through the cotton weave. French cuffs and a 5.66" spread collar give it business-formal bones, while the slim cut maintains a modern silhouette—ideal for video calls and in-person meetings alike. The 2.5" collar stays keep everything sharp under a vest, and the light-to-moderate drape breathes well for a warm late-spring Friday.
• Undershirt — US-008 (Pro Club): A tan heavy-weight cotton crew neck that disappears under the sky blue shirt without any show-through risk. The tan undertone warms the blue fabric slightly rather than washing it out with stark white.
• Slacks — SL-017 (Bachrach): Dark brown virgin wool trousers with a subtle herringbone pattern, triple-pleated and cut in a classic American silhouette. Made in the USA with 3/4 lining and mid-rise comfort, they anchor the outfit in rich earth tones while the heavy wool drapes beautifully without appearing stiff. Perfect for grounding a brown-forward Friday ensemble.
VWC-007 (Joseph Abboud): A khaki linen herringbone vest with dark brown secondary tones and a silver slide buckle at the rear. The polyester-lined single-breasted design features five buttons and slot pockets on both sides—slightly roomy at XL but comfortable for warm-weather business wear.
• Tie — NT-028 (Fort Belvedere): A golden-brown two-tone silk knit tie in Fort Belvedere's signature crunchy Swiss Cri de la Soie mottled silk. At 2.5" wide with a square blade, it's deliberately casual leaning while maintaining executive polish. The knit texture creates subtle dimension against the smooth poplin shirt, and the brown-on-brown palette keeps the earth tones cohesive without being monotone.
• Suspenders — SB-005 (JJ Suspenders): The Autumn Harvest Classic Brown suspenders in cocoa silk with cream accents and dark brown leather tabs. Gold hardware throughout—adjusters, back clasp, and button loops—ties into the warm metal story. Y-back construction at 1.15" width keeps them functional and refined. Made in the USA with convertible button/clip attachment.
• Footwear — DSh-008 (Thursday Boots): Cinnamon brown double monk straps in full-grain leather with brass buckles and Blake-stitch construction. Cap-toe design with round silhouette, leather sole, and glove-leather interior lining. The warm brown coordinates with the slacks while the brass hardware echoes the suspender fixtures. Business formal without being funereal—perfect for in-person meetings.
• Socks — DSo-077 (Kirby Allison): Sovereign Grade Giotto small dot mélange socks in tan with cream polka dots. Over-the-calf height in 92x2 mercerized Mako Egyptian cotton, 260-needle knit construction from Italy. The lighter tan-on-cream pattern adds visual interest at the ankle without demanding attention—sophisticated pattern mixing that reads intentional.
• Cufflinks — CL-011: Gold rectangle on woven gold rectangle cufflinks with T-bar mechanism. The brushed gold finish complements the suspender hardware and tie bar while keeping the wrist details understated. Single-sided and medium-sized—executive without being flashy.
• Left Watch — W-003 (Fossil Neutra): A 44mm stainless steel chronograph with light tan sunray dial on dark brown Havana leather strap. The mid-century design language—applied indices, baton hands, 30-minute and 24-hour subdials—reads dressy-casual. Brown leather matches the belt/shoe/suspender leather story; mineral crystal at this price point is forgivable for a daily driver.
• Ankle Watch — W-001 (Apple Watch 10): The titanium slate Apple Watch on integrated slate band handles the smart functionality—notifications, health tracking, calendar management—while the Fossil handles the aesthetics. Brushed titanium case at 46mm keeps it professional enough for regular work.
• Business Card Carrier — BCC-002 (Fort Belvedere): Brown bison leather bifold with silver clasp and tan quilted interior. The bison grain adds texture that coordinates with the leather accessories while the silver hardware provides a subtle cool-metal accent against the predominantly warm-gold palette.
• Fragrance — FR-003 (Roberto Ugolini Oxford): A woody aromatic fougère extrait with citrus and lavender opening into aromatic herbs, woods, and subtle leather. 6-8 hour longevity at moderate-strong projection—present in meetings without overwhelming the conference room. The timeless barbershop heritage vibe reads "classic gentleman" and pairs naturally with earth-toned business attire.
• Ring — R-001: Wedding ring, as always.
Metal Story: Gold throughout (cufflinks, suspender hardware, tie bar accents) with silver touches on BCC clasp.
Leather Story: Brown harmonies from suspenders to belt to shoes to watch strap to card case.
The Look: A Friday-appropriate earth-tone ensemble that balances texture (tweed vest, knit tie, wool pocket square, bison leather) with polish (French cuffs, monk straps, gold hardware). The brown-forward palette feels seasonally appropriate for June without reading heavy, and the sky blue shirt provides just enough cool contrast to prevent the warm tones from becoming overwhelming. Video-conference ready and in-person meeting appropriate.
