My Wet Shave Kit

Since I revel in the ritual of a relaxing DE wet shave, here’s a glimpse into something I've been excited to share—my double-edge (DE) wet shaving setup! I've enjoyed the ritual and refinement coming from wet shaving. There’s an undeniable satisfaction in these tools and techniques.

In the attached photo, you’ll see a few of key highlights from my shaving kit. Here’s a tour from left to right:

The green shave bowl is from Shave Nation—sturdy and weighty; it houses an alum block from Parker, an essential post-shave antiseptic and astringent.
The opened razor is the iconic Mühle R41, a 2-piece twist model known for its effective precision.
Thayers Witch Hazel (alcohol-free) follows as a post-shave toner and astringent—very soothing! I’m pleased to have added it to my routine.
The next razor is the renowned Merkur 34c, here closed, but also a 2-piece model.
Proraso shaving cream is beside it, an Italian classic that’s far superior to the standard foams commonly found in stores.
Cella shaving soap stands next, another Italian gem. Its tallow base provides an exceptionally smooth razor glide.

Moving to the second row, like a typewriter:

Clubman Pinaud aftershave is in the brown bottle—an old-school favorite.
Nivea After Shave Balm follows, widely available and reliable.
Brut is next—Roger Moore’s preferred choice!
To the far right, my 26mm “Atomic” shaving brush from Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements.
