If the suit fits…..

my biggest regrets are A) all the things I WUDDASHUDDACUDDA and B) all the time wasted on regretting not doing the things I wished that I WUDDASHUDDACUDDA.

I am grateful that I pulled the trigger and had this suit (you have seen a lot) made back in Oct 1995. The good news is I can fit into it again. There were several years that I could not. I watched a video about Bespoke Saville Row suits and how they tend to get a better feel and fit with age. Although this is not that quality being a MTM it still gives me that feature. It is slightly heavier than many suits and I really like how it feels. This all reminded me about a friend of mine. There was a fraternity brother who showed up to school in a polyester suit, Qiana disco shirt with giant collars over his coat collars all in some aberration of nature coloration all shown off by his giant Afro. He became one of my must loyal customers at Harold’s and he made a marked transformation. One of the things I wish I had followed that he exemplified was that he based his fitness around his extensive expenditure on classic timeless clothing. When his clothes started to get tight, the diet and the gym beckoned. I look back on all the pants I gave away. In today’s crazy prices ($350 for a pair of quality double pleated pants), I am sure that I gave away some 30-50 pairs as my blob-blobbed. I am sure some of the trousers wouldn’t have survived but $10 k is a lot of money if I were to replace all of them (I used to buy on sale and at my store discount back in old days). There is a very real economic value to hitting and maintaining a weight. So If the suit fits….
