On my quest to slim down I am trying not to spend a small fortune on my wardrobe. I am about two thirds towards my August goal and have lost well over 20 pounds since December: 198 on gym scale (194 nekid home scale)- down to 174 gym scale (171 nekid {how we say it in Oklahoma😳} home scale). The process finally started working when I tossed the ineffective calories in/out and shifted to long fasts (last one was 94 hours). That’s not the question here. The question is about shrinking cotton shirts (then I’ll tackle my sweaters later). As my weight increased from late 30s through 50s simultaneously the styles of clothing became more and more loose (tight hugging clothing around a man’s midsection was an absolute nada). Consequently living the illusion that I needed to “hide” the blubber I bought XL polos and sweaters. Not only do I wallow in them but the 1-2” overhang on the shoulders (see my shoulder pinch in photos) might get met me a deserved scolding by our commander and chief
. So I’ve been reading up on shrinking these shirts that are quite expensive to replace (RL polos are an obscene $110 ( $70 on sale) plus I don’t like their modern weenie placket. I also have some other brands (Normal, McKensie Tribe, Calloway, Southern Tide) that I don’t want to pony up to replace. So I’m going to attempt to hot soak and hot dry using the attached ideas in the article below. Never have done this. Any of you tried it?????
