Florsheim quality? (sweaty feet!)…

Found these used chukkas for a almost nothing online. The suede looks amazing and the sole looks solid too. However, the leather does not breathe at all, so my feet start to sweat almost right away. The leather inside seems like leather but has a bit of a plastic feel to it, unsure if it’s treated or coated with something? In any case, I doubt if I can use them at all since the enclose my feet like plastic bags 😔 I love the look though.

Was Florsheim great once but just good looking junk today?

Sure, I can get warm or sweaty feet occasionally from other leather or suede shoes as well, but these are really uncomfortable due to the lack of breathability.

Anyone that knows what the problem might be?
