Finished the weekend out strong by turning and burning back out west for another load after I thought I was done for the week. Ended up doing about a 26 hour shift and barely making it through today on a 3 hour nap. I managed to keep my promise of a date to my wife, although it was more like her taking me on a date because I was flat tired of driving. Had Mexican food in a small mom and pop Mexican restaurant before heading up to the city to see my buddy in the hospital. He is also a truck driver, and in a very unfortunate accident had his foot crushed by a straddle crane while loading huge slabs of precast concrete. Temp was around 50Β°F and damp, so I went with a tweed jacket and blue jeans. A little bit more of a hipster look, but just rolled with it for the sake of experimentation. I contemplated wearing my pheasant tie for national necktie day (and it also the opening day of pheasant hunting season here in South Dakota, which is the pheasant hunting capital of the world) but decided to keep it toned down a bit with a silk scarf instead. Also included in the evenings outfit were my 100x pure beaver hat, brown tweed vest, CT tattersall shirt, monogram belt buckle, (not pictured) pocket watch, and python boots.
