Casual Ties?!

So I guess this is a controversial topic outside of the fashion community...

I've been wanting to start wearing ties on a daily basis, so I bought this wool knit tie the other day at a local menswear store. It was a cold day so I put on a merino polo sweater in navy over this as well as an olive DB overcoat, but this was the base. This was also the first time I actually wore a tie outside when it was just a regular day at university, not any special occasion.
