So,
My wife and I went to Cardiff yesterday and the weather was beautiful. It has been my second time there, as I went to Wales for vacation all my life, but never to Cardiff.
The city itself is my absolute favourite capital. It has the vibrancy of a capital in the high shape of a smaller city. The arcades and buildings are stunning, as well as Cardiff castle and bute park, where Tafwyl, the largest Welsh language and music festival was held.
First of all, I visited the brogue trader. A small, but very well put together shop for classic mens footwear. All with a lot of wood, chesterfield chairs and a complimentary beer, coffee or water. I felt like I was in very good hands and left with a pair of black wholecuts. My wife thought them a bit to formal, but I think the will age nicely and become more casual with age, creases, patina.
The other shop I would like to mention was Hawes and Curtis. Surprisingly the sales clerk, John, still remembered me and we had a nice talk. I left with a knit Polo, with buttons all the way down, 2 ties and a pair of socks.
Overall a splendid day.
