I was watching Downtown Abbey with my bride and realized Russell's Hook, Story, Offer framework is there!
Mr. Mosley, butler then valet/footman at Downton Abbey, became a teacher at the Downton School.
The first day in the class he jumped right into British history, which he loved. The kids couldn't care less, completely ignored him, and basically threw a party in the classroom. Mosley was powerless!
The next time in class, Mr. Mosley told the class that he was a servant, a regular chap (the hook).
Then he said, but he always kept learning which ultimately landed him the prized position as a teacher (the story).
Then he started teaching that same history he adored and had tried before (the offer). Mosley was mesmerizing!
As Russell says, if your thing's not working...it's almost always the hook, story, or offer!
