Is It OKAY If I OVERDELIVER...🎪
I just finished reading another chapter from The Art of Money Getting by P.T. Barnum, and it’s all about something we often underestimate in business: Politeness
Barnum emphasizes that politeness and kindness toward customers are some of the best investments we can make. No matter how flashy your advertisements are or how big your business is, if you or your team treat customers rudely, it’s game over!
Customers want to feel valued, and the more generous you are with them, the more they’ll come back.
Russell Brunson says it best—"Is it okay if I overdeliver?"
Russell is known for giving so much value upfront that you almost feel obligated to buy from him. This is the essence of not just good business, but great business!
When you treat people with respect, kindness, and go above and beyond in serving them, you create loyalty. People love to buy from those they trust—and trust is built when they know you care about more than just making a quick sale.
Whether it’s a product launch or customer service, overdelivering can be your secret weapon.
Instead of driving sharp bargains and acting like you’ll never see a customer again, treat every transaction as the beginning of a long-term relationship.
As Barnum pointed out, "People don’t like to pay and get kicked too." Overdeliver on value, and they’ll come back again and again.
How You Can Apply This:
➡️ Overdeliver on value. Just like Russell says, give more than what’s expected. Surprise your customers with something extra—a bonus, a follow-up, or simply outstanding service.
➡️ Think long-term. Every transaction should be the beginning of a long-term relationship. Treat each customer like they’ll be with you for life, not just a quick sale.
➡️ Ask yourself, “How can I overdeliver today?” Make it a habit to go beyond what’s required. Every time you engage with a customer, ask yourself how you can exceed their expectations.
By embracing politeness, kindness, and the mindset of overdelivering, you’ll find that your customers will keep coming back—and they’ll bring their friends too.
Just like Barnum and Brunson have shown us, when you build trust and treat your customers well, your business can’t help but grow.
What about you?
