How Cooking Helped Me Stay Consistent With Self-Discipline and Output
Yo, what’s up.
This post is about how dialing in my nutrition helped me actually stay consistent, with my work, with my habits, with my routine.
So yeah, not just for the gym or self-improvement, but for business, for deep work, for staying on point all day.
So let’s go.
I’ve always liked cooking. But for a long time, I was making stuff that was just straight-up unhealthy. Started back in the lockdown phase, I had cookbooks, watched cooking channels, but most of the meals were just not the kind of fuel that helps you perform.
Then I got into high performance and started getting serious about what I ate.
I began switching out ingredients, learning how to cook meals that actually made me feel better, not worse. I wasn’t bloated. I wasn’t tired after eating. I could work in the afternoon without crashing. That was the big one.
And honestly, that change is what helped me stay locked in. Nutrition made the difference.
It wasn’t just about “eating clean”, it was also that cooking became part of my routine. It gave me structure. Something productive to look forward to. Something I could use to reset between work sessions.
And I made sure it wasn’t boring either. I didn’t just meal prep chicken rice and broccoli for 7 days. I learned how to cook real food. I still eat healthy, but it tastes good. That’s what keeps it sustainable.
Now I see it like this:
If your food is off, your focus is off.
If your fuel is bad, your decisions are bad.
If your inputs suck, your outputs are gonna suffer.
Cooking gave me control. It kept me sharp. And it helped me stay consistent, not just with food, but with sleep, work, fitness, everything.
So yeah, if you're building something and struggling to stay consistent, check your food.
Learn how to cook a few high-quality meals. Make it fun. Mix it up when it gets boring. Have something in your day that you actually look forward to.
Because when your nutrition’s on point, your performance follows.
That’s it. Peace.
