There's a free tool that shows you exactly how Google judges your email domain.

Most people have never opened it.

Set it up. Verify your domain. Then look at two things.

Compliance Status

Pass or fail. Green or red. Google's technical checklist for your domain -- authentication, sending practices, the stuff Gmail uses to decide whether your emails are trustworthy.

If anything is red.. your emails aren't just going to spam. Google can actively reject them outright. Not filtered. Rejected. They never arrive.

Spam Rate

The percentage of your emails that recipients are marking as spam.

Google has drawn two lines on this dashboard and they're not subtle..

0.10% -- warning threshold. You're being watched. 0.30% -- policy violation. Gmail is already filtering you aggressively.

Here's what makes this uncomfortable..

Your sending dashboard doesn't know any of this. It shows opens and clicks from the emails that made it through. It has zero visibility into the ones that got rejected or filtered before they arrived. You can have a 25% open rate and a red compliance status at the same time.

You're only seeing the survivors.

If your compliance status has red items.. fix authentication first. SPF, DKIM, and DMARC need to be properly configured and aligned. Run your domain through MXToolbox if you're not sure where to start.

If your spam rate is climbing.. it's almost always list hygiene. Stop emailing people who haven't engaged in 90 days. They're not buying. They're marking you as spam. And every mark is compounding against you.
