ChatGPT 4o Is Becoming a Cheerleader — Here’s How to Fix It Before OpenAI Does
Even Sam Altman just admitted it.
ChatGPT has been “glazing too much.”
Too agreeable. Too fluffy. Too afraid to say, “That’s not a great idea.”
And honestly, it’s a problem...
When your AI becomes a cheerleader instead of a thought partner…
👉 It agrees with bad ideas
👉 It glosses over flawed logic
👉 It prioritizes pleasing you instead of challenging you
And the worst case is it starts making stuff up just to keep the vibe nice 😬
That’s not intelligence. That’s people-pleasing with a processor.
The solution isn’t to ditch AI, it’s to prompt smarter.
Here’s what I do to fix it right now (before OpenAI patches it):
1. Break the praise loop.
Prompt: “Don’t validate my idea. Challenge it. What’s wrong with it?”
2. Set the tone in system instructions.
“Prioritize clarity, truth, and logic over likability. You’re not here to agree, you’re here to think.”
3. Use role-switching prompts.
“Now take the opposite viewpoint and explain why I might be wrong.”
4. Run contrast prompts.
“What would a beginner say here? What would an expert disagree with?”
These small tweaks get you deeper thinking, better copy, sharper funnels, and way fewer hallucinations.
The best AI users this year won’t be the ones with the best tools…
They’ll be the ones with the most strategic input.
So before the next GPT update lands, start building better prompts...
Train it to think, not just agree...
And stop letting your AI become a “yes man” in your business...
