Long Tail Broad Match Keywords

Hello Guys. I'm a beginner in Google Ads.

I want to know if, for a local service business (like pest control), I should target a very specific long-tail keyword (eg: pest control dallas tx) under a broad match type with low competition. And if I optimize with a very tight negative keyword list to avoid irrelevant searches, will it help my campaign get more clicks, high CTR, and low CPC?

To conclude, either very intent-specific long tail Broad match keyword or Exact/Phrase match keyword, with targeted location (eg: dallas tx) along with a tight negative list
