I know for me personally. I get my best sleep by stretching before bed and having just silence. To calm my mind down and let my body know that we’re relaxing and shutting down.
It helps calm me down and slowly start to relax myself.
I also sleep in silence and darkness. Yes I’m a psycho. Everyone is different. But if you’re having a hard time falling asleep, give it a try. It’s improved my overall sleep 100x
