Hi
Iโ€™ve been struggling with what to write about myself for an introduction. I am a helper. I definitely see myself as someone who wants to help people. Thatโ€™s taken the shape of me being a nurse. But I no longer want to limit myself into believing thatโ€™s the only way I can help. I have a unique way of seeing the world and making connections that I used to think was a weakness. Iโ€™ve learned it to be a strength from feedback from my peers and patients. After suffering repeated moral injury in the healthcare setting I know that it is not a place I can spend all of my time. I have been PRN/per diem for 11 of the 12 years Iโ€™ve been a nurse. Iโ€™ve filled my time off with travel, some music lessons, writing classes and some language learning. I believe Iโ€™m so much more than a med pushing, granny turner. But I love that I can be those things too. And when I am in the best space to go and care for people in the nursing setting I think my heart and levity make for a better experience for them. Iโ€™ve worked Med surg, Med Tele, cardiac Progressive (like pre post cath/open heart) float pool, unit educator for a surgical unit, travel. Now Iโ€™m in the world of outpatient Urgent care and now messaging/triage. Oh and some home hospice. the last few years of outpatient and hospice Iโ€™ve found incredibly rewarding. My favorite hospital role was unit educator but eventually I could see the admin at the hospital wanted me to gaslight these new nurses and we were no longer aligned so I had to leave that.
Iโ€™ve said a lot. Who remembers Pete and Pete (cries in elder millennial). If you donโ€™t remember that surely you know of Doug. If that wonโ€™t work. I used to watch drake and Josh with my niece and nephew.
I want to serve everyone. Iโ€™m struggling to niche down to an audience. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿพโ€โ™‚๏ธ
